Thank you Dionne. That's a really meaningful compliment. I’ll carry it with me. If you ever need them all in one place (or want to send them all to a friend) I have them compiled here: https://thenettlewitchmd.substack.com/p/plant-encyclopedia

Haven't added lemon balm quite yet though

Great article on lovely balm! I’m Currently in a spagyric process learning directly from lemon balm, so lovely timing to read. I shared an article a little while back about some of the early plant spirit teachings of her too in case you’re interested. Though there’s so much more, she’s a wonder!

I put lemon balm in literally every tea blend I ever make lol. It’s also really great as a glycerite to give to kids—I use it when my kiddos have fevers or general feelings of malaise.

Lemon balm does make every tea more delicious. It can really mask some bitterness. Love the idea of a glycerite. I’ve been thinking it would help my daughter with some worry and some focus.

The feedback is much appreciated, Allison! This is a very slow growing Bible, but many of my subscribers don't know it exists. Each month I add the new plant to it. Also, gold star for reading to the end ;) https://thenettlewitchmd.substack.com/p/plant-encyclopedia

Gladly Cecilia. I definitely think there is more to our relationship with plants than our rational mind can comprehend.

Been drinking tea made with lemon balm, mint and camomile. The effects are nice but extremely subtle.

Yes, I think sometimes we get kind of addicted to intensity. That's not what lemon balm is about. Enjoy!

Wonderful post about one of my favorite plants.

One of my favorite uses is to put a few sprigs in my drinking water.

Occasionally, Lemon Balm gives me a mild heartburn.

Thank you Kollibri, I sometimes forget how lovely herb infused waters are. Physiologically, the heartburn makes sense, because it definitely could relax that lower esophageal sphincter.

Hmm, now I'm really curious about exploring that polarity of relaxing versus tightening in plants and which plants are relaxing things throughout the body versus specific locations. I know a little about this from herbal actions, but sometimes the mechanism of action lends some clarity to my doctor brain

Lemon balm was one of the first plants I felt like I truly built a relationship with. It feels sacred, and it has helped soo much with nervous system dysregulation. I loved reading more about it, thank you!

Thanks Eliza! I think plants are one of the best reminders that the sacred is all around us. I mean, dandelions!?! what better sign could there be of the divine than a plant that is so powerfully healing and nearly everywhere. I think lemon balm is in that realm, though a little quieter about it :)
