Hi Amy! I love that you are writing here. When are you going? All those reasons make sense to me- not that you are telling us so that we can say, “yes you may go.” Only that I can relate to them all...but I haven’t considered this type of experience you are about engage in in order to figure it out. My first thought is - too scary! Too intense! But other thoughts come up too- how delicious 4 days of solitude in nature would be. What will be revealed on day 2 or 3 after your mind finally starts to realize that this is what’s happening- just being present and not tending to others, not driving anywhere, not making meals or trying to log into websites to which you’ve forgotten passwords... I can’t wait to hear about it.
Hi! I leave September 11, so it is coming up really soon. I often myself really drawn to intensity, in workouts, in career, in how loud my voice gets after a drink and a half, so I often need to moderate myself. Since this is my first fast, I'm planning to drink water during it, which feels a lot more manageable to me. I think there will be a lot to say, but it might take a while to process it all, but stay tuned.
Wow, Amy. Such clarity of purpose here. I’ll be lighting candles for you and Eric too (who I saw last night at storytelling). I love this article, and have such deep appreciation for this quest!
Thanks Megan, it's something I've wanted to do for a long time, but have struggled to put into words. I'm a big talker, so sometimes it surprises me how much clearer things can be when I put pen to paper. Definitely looking forward to meeting Eric, Carl, Richard, Kirsten, and John in person.

Water sounds wise. Safe travels and looking forward to hearing about it upon your return
